Laser Letters

Our high output laser printers are ideal for mass letter printing. Usually we are provided with an existing letter in electronic format. We can then perform a mail merge with the letter and the address information. This enables us to print variable data on the letter, such as a greeting using the customer’s first name. This approach allows for a more personalized feel to the letter. Of course, we are able to print generic laser letters as well.

Folding

Folding machines are standard equipment. We have numerous machines in order to process bulk accounts. We are able to perform a wide variety of folds ranging from double parallel to tri-fold. Larger pieces, such as 11x17, can be folded to 8.5x11 using our machines. This saves on our production time and overhead costs.

Tabbing

Sometimes a piece requires tabbing in order to meet US Postal Regulations for automation compatibility. By tabbing, we can claim the lower postage rates and save on overall costs. Also, larger catalogs will sometimes have a smaller piece inserted. By tabbing the open end, we ensure that none of your advertising falls out on the way to your client’s doorstep. We use clear easy break tape for our tabbing operations.

Metering

Our meter machines can run in line with other equipment. This gives a professional look to your end product and is a very efficient way to apply postage. In certain circumstances, metering the piece is the most cost effective option. This will vary depending on design of the piece. A representative from Kramers can review your mailing and recommend the most cost effective option.

Inserting

Inserting is a large portion of our business. We can insert up to six pieces into an envelope simultaneously by machine. We have numerous inserting machines, so it is not uncommon for us to do ‘prep work’ on our jobs, such as folding and inserting pieces if they arrive ahead of schedule. We can even work in line with our laser letter production to insert a personalized letter into a matching envelope. We do this by using a sequence number placed in an inconspicuous location on the envelope and letter. (Usually in the upper right hand corner of the letter and outside the mailing panel of the envelope.) When inserting, we match these numbers to each other and proceed with the mailing as usual.

Cheshire Labels

This technology is still available to our clients. Sometimes when a piece is extra glossy or covered in artwork with no mailing panel, it is necessary to apply a Cheshire label. These labels are printed out in reams, cut, glued, and then applied to the mail piece. This is all done by machine. We are extremely competitive with our pricing and are one of the few mailhouses that still offer this service to our customers.

Inkjet Addressing

Our inkjet addressing service is the core of what we do. We offer high speed inkjet technology to our customers so that we can turn the job as soon as possible with the highest quality available. We have the ability to include an ancillary endorsement, address, return address and postal imprint or indicia, all in one pass through the inkjet machine. We can include fixed messages and/or variable data. We can even use color under certain circumstances. Pieces designed with the potential for high output (such as self mailers from cardstock) can be turned at extremely high rates. If the piece allows us to utilize the full potential of our machinery, we can turn up to half a million pieces a day. Also, customers may use our postal permit at no extra charge while using our services.
